Do any of you know how to get rid of sleep paralysis? Mine happens one after the other over and over again every night. I also hear things and hallucinate.
For those who don’t know what sleep paralysis is it’s when you’re either going to sleep or waking up and it’s like you try to move or scream and you can’t. It feels like you’re trapped. Thank you!
I have suffered from sleep paralysis on and off for a couple of years now. I’ve noticed that it is most likely to happen when I am under a lot of stress. So keeping your stress levels down can usually help. Also, make sure you have some kind of normal sleep routine. Try to make sure you’re going to bed at the same time every night, and have some sort of nighttime ritual that puts you in the right psychological state for sleep. SP is not usually a sign of any serious condition, but if it really is happening all through the night every night, you might have another sleep condition that’s causing it.
Also, there are support groups in existence for people with SP. Some people have found success with acknowledging the condition while having an episode, and trying the “relax and enjoy it” approach, saying that they can make their hallucinations fun or relaxing. This never worked for me personally though.
